passwords and drivers

    hi can any one help i have been given an old computer it has i think an aopen mx3w pro mobo which i need drivers for to load graphics and sound as they are onboard any ideas also bios setup is passworded any way round that it has been fitted with a 7gig hd is it large enough for xp or should i load 98

    I've never used it myself but DriverGuide.com looks like a good place to find the drivers.

    As for the password just clear the BIOS (or remove the battery) to disable the password.

    What are the specs of the machine? If it's a low-specced machine you should probably stick with Win98 as XP may well be painfully slow on it.

    thanks for the help removing the battery is no problem i think its a socket 370 that makes it a celeron most likley 400 mhz or so 64 or 128 not sure speed is not an issue only to be used for net letters etc i thought xp might pick everything up instead of trying to find drivers

    Thats correct, you can go up to a celeron 533 on that mobo!
    XP doesnt a good variety of sound drivers at all but you can go here >
    http://download.aopen.com.tw/Default.aspx
    and in the drop down list just select Motherboards > MX3W and then drivers!
