Hello everyone I am having problem with my PC and I cant actually figure out the culprit. So in need of your help guys. The problem is a month ago I was using my PC normally and all of sudden it freezed, none of device worked at all.So I have to reset. After resetting there was no display on monitor either system was running. I had to turn the main socket off but all in vain. After several tries the display came up but it hardly start loading windows it freezes again n same problem after reseting, no display. I took of my heat sink washed it up and attached heat sink back on processor. When I turned it on the display comes up n gave message in start that "Your computer was previously shut down due to thermal overheating.Service the unit right away to resolve this problem". After this the PC turn off automatically. I checked the Heat Sink again and there was hardly silicon paste left on it. So I applied Silicon Paste in between processor and heat sink. Then It worked fine for 2 days but after 2 days the same problem arised. The system freezes and after resetting no display. I even took off every device and there is just PSU, Mobo, Processor and RAM running and the same problem is occuring like when the display comes up I enter to bios settings, it freezes there, and after resetting theres no display on monitor. Now my question is that I simply cant figure out what is the actual problem and who is the culprit??????After applying paste it is supposed to work properly but after working for 2 days why its creating the same problem again. I have read different forums and threads to find this problem but all in vain. Now the status is that PC runs by its own wish. Sometimes it works fine for several minutes to few hours (either the temperature remains between 80C to 90C) but all of sudden freezes and after resetting or turning off power from main switch, NO DISPLAY. I read about burged capacitors creating problems. Is there any relation of those burged capacitors with the overheating problem which is causing my system to get freeze or there is some PSU problem or heat sink is not working fine , I mean what is the cause of such problem. and also When system runs by mistake and I attach any of USB device it is not being recognized by the system either I reinstalled my windows when PC worked fine in those 2 days but all in vain and still same prob is appearing. Is this because of capacitor burging or PSU or some voltage problem or what..??????? for information there are 5 or 6 capacitors burged on the board.I have been using this PC for about 5 1/2 years or so from 2004.and there has been no such hardware issue before.I left my Chasis side panels open. The CPU and PSU fans are working properly as well. System Information: CPU: Intel Celeron D 2.4 Ghz RAM: 512MB 400MHZ MoBo: Intel D865GBF PSU: 300W OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit Current temperature and voltages using Sensor View: CPU: fluctuates b/w 85C to 90C SYS: 43C AUX: 40C HD0: 48C CPU FAN: 4200 RPM VCoreA: 1.47V +3.3V: 3.34V +5V: 5.12V +12V: 11.90V Additionally the chips including chipset, bios chip and other chips are so hot that a man cant even touch his finger to them................ Kindly help me in this regard. I shall be very thankful. What should I do to verify the culprit. Will be looking forward for some posts. Regards
your cpu temp is out of control. your gonna have to lower it. get a good heatsinks and some artic silver 5 thermal paste. when it fluctuates you mean its 85c - 90c idle? or in use? that could well cause problems with the system freezing. your hd temp is quite high as well. overall your gonna need some better cooling. after you've installed better cooling you should rune prime 95 to rule out any issues with cpu and ram. also benchmark your hard drive using hd tune. it's mainly hard drive, ram, cpu, gpu and power supply units that can cause freezing issues. in some cases some programs and virus's can do it.
thanks for your suggestion bobby but i mentioned about burged capacitors of motherboard as well.... dont u think they can be the problem creator..???????? wuts your opinion on that .Should i go for motherboard repair as well as system is also causing USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED problem..????? Will be looking forward for response Thanks
