I have just ordered a new laptop XP MCE 2005 and a Pentium M Processor 735A and have also requested an external digital TV tuner (AVerMedia) MCE compatable.

The makers of the tuner say that I need a Pentium 4 Processor - does this mean that the tuner I have ordered will not work?

They probably mean a Pentium 4 or equivalent. A Pentium M should work fine.

I run a Digital TV card (a Hauppauge Nova T PCI), and it only requires a Pentium 3 800MHz. You could probably run your card on a lot less
