    Hi,

Phenom X3 8450 and Athlon X2 6000+ cost the same ,I do not know which one to buy.

AMD Phenom X3 8450 Triple Core Processor
    (2.1GHz, 2MB, 1800MHz FSB, Socket AM2+)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Duel Core Processor
    (3.00 GHz, 2MB, Socket AM2)

    Help me choose please.

Well I don't know much about the Phenom processor, but I have the Athlon X2 6000+, and it's a good processor. I can play games like Crysis, Far Cry 2, Trackmania, etc.. with ease. (I have 2 nVidia 8600GT's aswell).

Also, it does other processor intensive work reasonably quickly.

Try to find a benchmark website comparing the two.

The Phenom X3 is faster than the Athlon X2. However note that the Athlon uses the AM2 socket, while the Phenom uses the AM2+ socket.

The AM2+ socket is backward compatible with AM2. So you can use Athlon and Phenom on your motherboard.

But if you want the fastest processor, I'd suggest to get the Phenom :)
