    Hey Guys,

Just a problem with my new custom build computer (my first), im having a few issues with and am not sure what the problem is, or how best to proceed.

The build went fine and for about a month I had a computer which was working fine, although every so often it would just freeze, then one day it just crashed. I then proceeded to try and reinstall windows, without much luck as it would'nt even proceed to the set up stage, I boot from the CD-rom and after it displays the 'windows loading files' it just goes blank.

I had a blue memory error message come up around a minute or so after this blank screen, however after swapping the memory, that problem seemed to go.

I also had to error code C1 on my motherboard, which also suggested a memory issue, however this also went after swapping my memory over.

    Iv already tried the following:
    - A different windows CD installation
    - Putting the CPU out and in again
    - Connecting and reconnecting the hard drive.
    - Swapping over memory

Any help anyone can give me on this matter would be very much appreciated, as im sure a few of you can understand what its like to put a lot of money and effort into a new build and be stuck with problems. Frustrating!

Any furhter information which may lead to a correct diagnosis please don't hestitate to ask, here is the computer spec details:

    nForce 790i FTW Socket 775 7.1 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard, INTEL Q6700 CORE 2 QUAD 4X 2.66 2X4MB 1066 MHZ RETAIL LGA775, Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 XMS3 DHX, Samsung SpinPoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB Hard Drive SATAII *32MB Cache*, Zotac GTS250 512MB DDR3 Dual DVI HDTV Out PhysX and Cuda ready PCI-E Graphics Card.

Thanks again to anyone that can help. Sorry if request is ambigous, bit a noob at this.

try another power supply unit. If the new psu doesn't work, try another graphics card because the card could be faulty. the machine will still stay powered but will display nothin on screen.

Agree with above, if you can try components on another PC to check that they are working etc. Its just a matter of getting it down to one component that it causing the issue, tricky if you dont have many spares or another similar PC to troubleshoot with.
