plugging my pc into the tv

first of all, i have a 50 inch nec plasma tv. does anyone know if this tv supports HD or not? i mean, is it a HDTV, cause i wanna play some of my games and see how they look with hd.

second question. i connected the pc to the monitor by the tv out cable from my hraphics card to the connection in the tv. i started up my computer and everything worked fine. the only thing that didnt work was the sound and the screen was fuzzy.

the sound, i can probably find a way to work it, but the fuzzyness on the screen, i just dont know. i go to the nvidia control panel and it just says tv, it doest say that it has recognised which tv. i mean, there are dots all over the screen! is it from the driver (i have 82,65), or something else. im not really sure what to do now, does anyone have a solution??

Do you have an S-video port on your TV and video card? If so I really recommend using that instead, it may make a difference.
 
i do have an s-video port, and that is what i used when i wrote my first message, its still fuzzy, i mean, do i have to install any drivers or anything like that?

Is there like another way to connect the computer to the tv other than the s-video port. i have it plugged into the tv in the video 3 outlet. i looked around and i saw a dvi port, which is the same one present on my graphics card, is it possible to connect through that, or is it only out, not in. it doesnt say on it!

also the s-video port that goes into my graphics card has lots of othe ends sticking out of it and none can fit anywhere in my case, such as( Yout/comp.out , R-OUT , S-VID IN , COMP IN) none of these have places to stick into, do u know what they are for?

Oh sorry man, this isn't quite my topic. Well you won't need any more current drivers as people have been doing it for years but yeah dvi is an option. Assuming your TV has a DVI port then you could try a two headed dvi cable and see if that helps.

I'm pretty sure you can run the TV from your PC using that port, what is the exact model of the TV?
I can't remember hearing of a TV that runs a signal out through a DVI port, you'd need a input for DVI on your graphics card/other device for that, and what signal would the TV be sending to that? If it did use that DVI as an output then it would probably only be the signal from the aerial, possibly routing the signal from an input on the TV (Scart, composite, s-video) through the DVI port.
With a TV of that size I'm pretty sure that the designers realised that computer users might want to use it for their computers and slapped a DVI input on as well for good measure.
 
the tvs model is px-50xr4w ,
i looked around and it does have a dvi input port, ill go out as soon as my exams are over and buy a two headed dvi cable, thanks guys for the help!:D
