i was transferring my guts of a gateway:O into a new case it wasnt an atx motherboard but i tapped some holes and made it work,, now onto the problem the heatsink that covered the CPU was screwed into the mobo tray with springs for pressure.. i cleaned the cpu and heatsink and applied new thermal paste. but after 30 minutes after boot up it felt pretty hot in their by the heatsink, i dont know the exact temperature,,,, but how much is normal for temperature right by the heatsink?. and is their a certain amout of pressure i should put on the CPU with the heatsink i feel its on their pretty snug right know .

Well, you should feel some heat by the heatsink. It should be decently warm.
Still, you do want a program that will report the temp readings so you know if things are okay.
