I have segate laptop IDE HD which is made portable by using (IDE to USB) converter hardware device (trancend portable HD maker.. i dont know what exactly it called) and I have KOBAIN 845GLM motherboard + 40GB IDE internal HD + 4 usb slots + p4 2.0 processor.

When i connect my portable HD to my pc it make some 'peek..peek' noise continuously and doesn't detect drives (prevously I had local made IDE to USB convertor..so my drives data used to get corrupt) So i cant able to exchange my data. the HD is working very fine on newer and older(intel P3) PCs also. Only My PC is giving such problem.

DO I REQUIRE TO MAKE NE CHANGE IN HARDWARE SETTING?OR MY HW DOESN'T SUPPORT HD?

PLESE HLP ME OUT..any help wud be appreciable
    THX IN ADVANCE..
