Problems with signing up with hotmail account?

I tried to register to the forum with my hotmail email account, [confirmed correct email, triple checked].

However the verififcation email never came through. So I changed the email to gmail, and voilaa.. it works instantly

I've checked many times. I don't know why this has happened. I thought it may have been a one off, so I did the whole password reminder thing and still no emails came though. Then I switched the email to gmail. and bam.. It's there in my inbox within seconds.

I have checked to make sure the hotmail address was correct, and yes it was.

Have you verified that you can receive emails from others to that hotmail account?

Yes the account allows email to pass through, anyway from the sound of things it seems like this is an one off. I wouldn't worry about it unless you get more complaints.

I did some research, and apparently this is a common issue with emails that are sent using a PHP application to Hotmail and Windows Live accounts. Nothing we can do about that issue at the moment, I'm sorry.
 
I've actually ditched hotmail recently, they haven't figured out how to use anti spam.

They were letting too much spam in before, and now they've gone too far on the other side and deleting some messages on sight and move many legitimate messages to the spam box.

My website's contact form mails all got sent to spam, i repeatedly marked the mails as not spam in order to get the damn software to learn and switch it over to my inbox, but to no avail. Put my hotmail with a holiday autoresponder asking people to email me to my gmail account.
