Quad cores, Intel and AMD

    So i have been doing some reading around and as i'm sure most of you know that Intel has made a new architcture, which is suppose to give AMD a run for its money, as well the new 1207 socket "socket F" for AMD along with the quad cores

    Socket F is for the Opterons only and is an LGA (Land Grid Array) socket, like what Intel has for Socket T (aka 775).

    yes i realize that, but i read something about what there adapting to the desptop for the consumers, granted desktops don't really have the need for that many cores unless PC game developing follows suit with what the consules are doing rate now.
