I would like to replace my cd burner in my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop with one of these DVD burners SAMSUNG-SN-S082D or Pioneer-DVR-K16. Does anybody know if one of these burners will work and would I have any issues. Please help if you can.

I would hazard a guess that no.
Dell are probably using an NEC, OEM drive made specificaly to fit their gear. But the 100% confirmation will have to come, very unfortunately, from Dell or, perhaps, hopefully from Samsung and Pioneer.

Word of advice, be very patient when calling Dell..... they do not like to give advice on upgrades which do not include their own parts....

Good luck, but if I were you, even with their appauling attitude, I would try Dell first.
