The title is a bit misleading but essentialy that is what I am looking for - a 'software tuner'.

Whoever used WMP before knows that you can search, set and connect to network radio stations. Is there a program which does just that? I mean a program which its sole use is online radio?

[ot]Can anyone recomend a serious, brilliant online Jazz satation?[/ot]

    Thanks all...

Personally, i would reccomend Winamp. Allthough its not a dedicated 'tuner' like you are looking for, it does a nice job of access online media, Shoutcast radio + TV and access to AOL [argh!] Music and Videos (even if your not with AOL).

It allso kicks the :swear: out of WMP. but if you miss WMP, you can skin winamp to look like WMP10, and it also has the mini controll (which you can put on the start bar!)

    Nope :p (not me anyway).

But anyoen who likes rock try "The Edge" (shoutcast radio)

    Have you tried Yahoo's LaunchCast?

Type Yahoo Radio in the search engine. It's a really good radio tuner and you can skip tracks you don't like.

The downside is you can only run it in Internet Explorer :x:

It's no good then. Thanks (no, really...) but no thanks.
It will be a cold day in AOL when I start using :swear: IE again..... LOL.

You know you want to :D

If you really, really wanted to, you could install Internet Explorer in Linux using WINE!
