I've been trying to find a resource to tell me which DDR2 RAM to use with the Asus Striker Extreme. I've been reading that the board is a bit sensitive to the RAM some people have been using. Can someone give me a like to an Asus or quality memory mfrs website where the best and most stable DDR2 is listed?

People using the Striker Extreme - which DDR2 800 are you using?

Is 4Gb needed for Vista? I'm not going to go Vista yet but once it starts picking up (SP1?) I'll be looking to join.

    Thanks.

Download the manual for Striker Extreme. That should contain the list of qualified vendors.

Ok - Several months on from the build and everything is going quite well. The motherboard is great and the processor E6320 is fantastic. I've overclocked from the 1.86Mhz to 2.2Mhz for a while but have since returned to the original default.

Don't be put off by the reports on the Striker Extreme. It is VERY sensitive to the RAM you use which is why I'm back here today... :chk:

The Corsair Ram I have at the moment is a bit pants. I don't think it's listed in the QVL list so it's my fault. Most of the problems I've had (75%) have been crashes due to the incorrect RAM. The rest has been the OS.

The 2Gb isn't enough for the Vista 64bit OS I'm running so I was looking at making a change to 4Gb. Can someone tell me who is/has running 4Gb on their Striker Extreme the SPECIFIC product code of their RAM? I will want to overclock it and I can't do this reliably with the Corsair 6400 XMS I have in at the moment.
