Does anybody here know if the speed gains would make buying the Gigabyte Ramdisk worth the considerable amount of money it would cost? If I got one I would use it for BF2, so I would need at least 2.5 GB of RAM. I mean, is the hard drive enough of a bottleneck in the system to get me to spend $400+?
 
I seriously don't see the need for it at this point in time.
Maybe down the track when prices drop and it becomes mainstream?

I already knew that, my question was completely unrelated to system memory. A ramdisk is a piece of hardware that allows you to use sticks of RAM as mass storage devices, i.e. up to 4 GB of storage that operates at the speed of RAM as opposed to the far inferior speeds of a hard drive. But as to pelvis said, I tend to agree, I think the $400+ would be better spent on a 7800GTX. I just wanted to get a second opinion.
