with dell computers does anyone know if the come with a back up disk so that if i get a virus i can re boot the computer and restore it to it's original factory settings
 
i think they normally dont come with disks, but if you have a problem you usually have to ring them up and they'll send you the recovery disks!
 
From everything I can gather, Dell, and pretty much every company that makes pre-built rigs, comes with a restore CD. I'm not sure on the replacement of one, but I would guess that you could call them up and ask about it.
 
Well i know that HP/compaq dont come with them but the only company i know of that does come with them is Acer in the form of a norton ghost image!
 
because dells come wiv an oem operating system they usually cum wid a version of xp so you can restore your computer back to a working state however that disk will not work on ne 1 else's pc. all the dells i av wrked on have cum wid a recovery cd they basically contain the operating system and all the dell drivers you need. hope this helps Dave :cool:
