realtek audio drivers installed , but no sound device found in control pane in win xp

hi,
when is reformatted my hdd (desktop 2.53 core to duo intel fb33 mother board), and installed win xp os -sp2 pack with realtek audio drivers , the drivers are installed , but in control panel under sound&audio devices say "no audio device ", earlier which worked excellent , has becom dumb
what could be the problem , anyone could pl find a solution
