Recovering data from a non detectable hard disk

Hi,

I have a 80 GB IDE seagate Hard Disk. It is a new hard disk. I use it for only 25 days. The problem that i am facing is that, my hard disk is not detected.I check it on different systems. The hard disk contains 40 Gb of data.

Is it possible to recover that data through any software, or what steps can i take in order to recover my hard disk data with disturbing its hardware.

plz help me

bye

When you use it on another system, does the drive start up with a noise, or is it dead. Just put your finger on it when you start up and feel for vibrations.

Yep my HD did that when it died, i didn't recover the data i just RMAd it and got a new one. I don't know of any programs that recover data from a dead drive, although you cna send it to specialised firms which will recover it, but it costs a fortune.

Unfortunately, Addis is right. If that data is critical, you'll have to look into having a company that specializes in that type of data recovery, and they aren't cheap. Otherwise, suck it up and develop a backup regiment.
