Recovering RAID-0 array data on LACIE

Hi

I have a Lacie 1.2TB disc with that is RAID-0. The LACIE stopped working and we had critical data on there that needs to be removed. I talked to LACIE and they will let me open it up and remove the drives to attempt to restore data. Since it is on a RAID-0 array, if i take out the drives and set them up on a spare system with a IDE RAID controller card, will windows pick up the array? Or will i have to rebuild the array? I just want to try to copy off as much data as possible. Is there any software that would allow me to hook up the 4 drives and just recover the data withouth having them in RAID? Thanks for the help.

I haven't used the software before, but I can say that if one of the drives died completely, you're SOL. With RAID 0, the bits are alternately sent to each drive in the array. If you can't recover it with the program Impotence suggested, you'll need to look at data recovery services, and they aren't cheap. On the upside, as I understand it, they don't charge that fee if they can't recover the data, or just a small fee for the diagnosis.
I would not rely on RAID for backup, especially something in RAID-0, simply because the nature of the array design lends itself to be less safe multiplied by the number of drives in the array.
You might want to look at getting a tape drive or DVD burner to back up your data after this.

I was just wondering that if its possible to use a recovery tool to recover data from damaged drive and then put that data back again in place of old drive........then do backup..Does it affect the arrays.

I dont have much knowledge of RAID but still trying my logics, may b it works for u~!
