Red overlay on LCD

hi gang, this is a general TFT question, i dont believe its got anything to do with it being a laptop LCD but i have a red overlay glow on me laptop tft. the weird thing is that even in dos there is a red glow but whereever there is a white screen (ie mspaint, or explorer) the display is white

ive taken the back panel off of the TFT and behind there is just white, it would make sense if it wasnt! :

ive discovered something very strange, those of you who are TFT freaks will understand whats happening... when the display firsts "switches on" a split second after switching the laptop on the screen is completely normal, then the pink glow appears. likewise when changing display modes from monitor to laptop tft, there is a very brief moment when it's normal

oh btw, the display is fine on the second tft monitor when plugged into the back of laptop via vga port.
 
Im not sure if there is this option on the laptop, but you could try the RGB & temperature settings from the screen's options buttons (like on a monitor).. try and lower them a bit and see if it works.

appreachate reply, but as such there isnt a menu on this lcd as there is on the pc monitor
