I just reformatted my hdd and now I can't boot from my cd rom. It's set as the primary IDE master and put first in the boot disc priority yet it still won't boot. It just gets skipped and then when it tries reading my hdd it says NTLDR missing, restart. I checked all the plugs and even took them out and put back in and checked my cd rom's jumpers. Why won't it boot from the cd rom???

A CDROM must be burned with special system files in order to act as a bootable disc. In other words, if you just downloaded an illegal copy of XP Pro off a P2P network and burned it straight to disc, it won't boot.

You should have read the rules. If you had, you'd have noticed rule #4. Go read them now.
