restricting msn

    Hi i hope someone can help i am running a wireless network my pc downstairs and the kids each have a pc upstairs problem is i need to restrict the access to msn idealy to certain times i have tried several pieces of software but to no avail they just restrict my main pc

    If I was in your position, I would without hesitation build an IPCop firewall out of some outdated PC hardware and install the Block Outgoing Traffic addon in addition to the Cop+ addon.

    Cop+ gives you the filtering capabilities of Dan's Guardian, a commercial-grade filtering engine with blacklisting and even captive gateway features should you desire it.

    BOT gives you the ability to decide what types of traffic are allowed on the internet and when they are allowed there. That way, you can write rules that allow internet access for certain computers during certain times of day and/or week.

    A system configured as such would give you a powerful, secure, flexible and perhaps best of all free solution that would allow you to regulate exactly what happens on your network and when.
