Hey!!!! Thumbs WAY up MEGA! Well done.... I will definately try! If this works then I supose I am fresh out of excuses... hey! :O Right now, the question is - here we go.... more excuses As I got very attached to my Kubuntu which runs on my main rig, if I wanted to try this VL on my laptop, I will need to get a PCMCIA firewire card, so I can capture DV. Ohhhhh, :swear: it! I will just have to install it on the main PC..... Thanks for thinking of me..... Would you like to mary me? Sorry....It's been a while.... *sniff*
That's the idea! You don't need Windows... honest! VideoLinux comes as a live CD so you can trial it out first to see if you like it. If you do, then you could install it in a dual-boot with Kubuntu...... and Mandriva! Steady!
Well.... a quick update on VideoLinux This is a very young project with some teething problems which the developer is desperately trying to address. The live CD did not like my old M300, which is my test bed, and trying to follow the online instruction proved to be a problem to other users as well..... phew.... I feel a bit better now. AAAAAAnyway, for the moment and untill a better build is released, as the distro is based on PCLinuxOS, I have installed PCLinuxPC on the M300 to excercise setting up my SpeedTouch 330. If I succeed, then the way is paved to install VideoLinux on my main more powerfull rig. Thanks again Mega.
