Second SCSI hard drive?

Hi everyone, newbie here and not too clued up on hard drives as I have only ever used 1.
I have a SCSI drive (adaptec 160) connected to my (5 year old but newly flashed) Gigabyte board and would like to connect a second old SCSI that I have.
Is this possible? I tried the obvious, plug it in and boot up to see if it recognises both but just hangs at the detection start up. Do I need to make it a slave? if so how.
Any help here would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the input but I can't see any info on changing the ID. The old IBM has the jumper on the top of the drive and it doesn't even refer to the iD?
I have a seagate in at the moment so I'll look to see if I can make that one the slave and reload the OS on the old drive......
 
Guys, SCSI is very different from IDE. You need to terminate the SCSI chain for any devices attached to it to work, and each device must have a unique SCSI ID. The terminator should have come with the SCSI adapter, place it at the appropriate spot on the chain. If you don't have the one you need, have a look here. If the terminology is just confused and it's really an IDE drive after all, the url Fred posted should help.
