I like browsing several pages at once & on Windows ME I used to just click the IE button on the tool bar near the start button, but on XP the only way i can find to get a new page is by minimising & opening from desktop or opening from "file>new>window" Is there a quicker way?

CTRL+N or if you want to follow a link from a website in a new page either right click on the link and select 'open in new window' or hold down SHIFT and then click the link!

And also, what you are referring to by clicking the IE link near the Start button is called "Quick Launch". It has been a standard feature in Windows up until XP. But if you want it back you can have it. Right click on the taskbar and hover over "Toolbars". Then click "Quick Launch" so it has the little check mark beside it. Now you should have your little icons with IE, OE, WMP, and Show desktop.
