i have a p3 650 gb proc. in slot 1.i got a p3 800 gb proc.to put in the socket 370 on the board .i installed it and didnt have power to my monitor i think everything else was running but no monitor . i did some research and thought i could do the switch -upgrade. does anyone know what im talking about and can you help please ? i think i need to swithc some jumpers or something like that but am not sure at all.l
Well, Super Socket-7 to Slot1 converters are messy at best, and don't always work the way they should. But your problem is likely that you don't have the voltage and multipliers set properly for your new CPU. You're going to have to play with some jumpers. Either grab your old manual for your motherboard if you still own that, or download it from the manufacturer's website. That'll give you a good idea of what each set of jumpers/pot switches do, and how you should be setting up your system.
