Sony drops the 60 and 20 gb PS2 models

    Sony to axe original PlayStation 3 models in Japan - Yahoo! News

    Sony is going all out to promote the cheaper 40gb model. This new unit only has 2 USB slots, doesn't support PS2 games, and doesn't have a super audio CD system. This is in an attempt to compete with Nintendo's Wii.
    Yeah, so i think they are still going have the 80gb model, with all the gadgets, so thats good. Plus they are going to have a cheaper model with all the PS3 functionality as well, i guess all is well.
