spyware/virus problem

Hi,

Im currently running Win7 Pro.

My setup is that my OS installed on drive C: along with all my programs. On drive D: (a different physical drive) I have the 'BackUP & Restore' files created from the build in win 7 backup utility. This has a complete copy of the C: drive.

Recently I descovered some spyware via spybot search and destroy. More specifically 'Doubleclick - tracking cookie' and 'Win32.PornPopUp - tracking cookie' or something along those lines. Anyway, I removed them from the system, but i want to restore to my previous backup on the D: drive, by running the restore from the disk and formatting the C: and installing the image on the D:. But im wondering. If a virus or spyware can get into the backup files in the image files? on the D: or are they usually aimed at the C:.

If so would this mean my backup file is corrupt? So i would have to completely re-install windows?

Cookies are only stored on your system partition, so there's no need to worry about that. What concerns the Win32.PornPopUp, I'd suggest running a virus scan on your D: drive. There are free virus scanners like Avast, and also online scanners like HouseCall.
 
I would scan that drive with Kaspersky to see if you get anything.. Also when you back up C: drive , Did you scan C: drive first with an AntiVirus progrm to make sure that drive was clean ?
 
Try to scan all drives With Rising Antivirus.. that will i think clean your all files without losing any thing...i have tried it..
