I'm trying to get the last screw out of a motherboard that's holding it in a case, but there's something wrong with it. I can turn it fine, but it seems to reset after a few turns and be back where it was before I turned it at all. I'm guessing there's a problem with the threads.

Does anyone have a suggestion for getting it out? Is it okay to cut into the motherboard to pull it out if there's no circuitry along the cutting path?

Alright, I managed to get it out. I got some tweezers and reached up under the motherboard, and from there I could pop out the little thing that connected it to the case via the screw. I'm still not sure what was wrong with it; I could remove the screw from the connector thing after I'd popped it out.
