I don't know which one the Intel 101 motherboard is, as that's not a model listed.

You will need to have a motherboard that supports your socket, which is an LGA775 style. Also, it will need to support the RAM you have. The 915 can support DDR and DDR2 (not simutaneously, however), so if you have DDR memory, you'll have to find another 915gav or purchase some DDR2.

I don't know what's all available to you, but any motherboard with a 900 series chipset and an LGA775 socket should work.

First I've heard of it. I had to Google it to find out since Intel typically uses the chipset numbers as part of the motherboard model, like the 915GAV.

If you just want to upgrade the motherboard and don't want to buy anything else, it's one of your very few options, as the industry is moving to DDR2, and both your motherboards have DDR. These standards are incompatible in signaling, voltage and in module pin-count.

As far as Asus, look at a P5B series model. There's a few different models, but they're all Intel P- or G965-based motherboards. The "G" indicates integrated graphics. And like any new motherboard, these all require DDR2.

Nope. The only 900-series chipset that supports DDR1 is the 915. Everything else requires DDR2, that includes the 945.
