To Overclock or To Not... That is the Question?

Guys it costs £70 more to get a Nvidia 7900GT un-clocked than it does to get a clocked Nvidia 7900GT.

Does this mean that getting the clocked 7900GT i am paying less for something which has better performance but a worse stability?

Also i want to know how badly does clocking effect the stabilty of you card? and how can i make sure that it wont break down if i get a clocked one.. i mean do they just overheat alot more? or break all the time? do i need fans or something?

my knowledge is limited please help me pro's!

Any company that ships out a pre-overclocked product is saying that they've tested the product to run at that speed and be stable. People will not buy from a company that ships out products that aren't stable with the factory settings that they are paying for. It should not affect the stability of the card, but if it does, you'll be able to get a properly working replacement. The 'stock' speeds of the OC'd card are okay, although I'm not entirely sure it's worth that much money for a pre-OC'd card from a company vs. the same non-overclocked card. This is assuming that something like cooling is equal with a normal clocked card.
