    Hi there everyone,

I was trying to make use of one of my older dvd writers so I slapped it into the external 5.2" converters and now it won't work.

Problem is that the xp won't find a driver on which it'll work on. It says i gotta MASS STORAGE device installed but no drivers. I tried the drivers i had and the ones i got with the external box and the one that came with the DVD Writer nothing works. The funny thing is i can boot up with the same drive but when i am in the windows it wont work. On start-up boot menu it shows USB DVD-RAM Drive and it boots perfectly.

I thought it might be because i had the jumpers wrong but i tried M,S and Cs all 3 settings but it still won't get recognized.

Also I tried deleting upperfilters lowerfilters keys from the registry but there were none to start with.

It's an LG GSA 4081B in an external A-Byte 5.2" bay via USB and on XP.

Any help will be appreciated. I've tried every scenario possible and nothing is seem to be working.

    Thank you all
