Hello, I am trying to get a couple of friends computers (an acer aspire m5640, and a dell optiplex 745) running bit there appears to be a huge problem, they both refuse to display anything.

I had the acer running in restrictive mode just recently, until i took the video card out.

The optiplex was the victim of thievery, supposedly someone stole something out of the little desktop, we have no idea what it was, but it worked great at one point.

I dont believe it's a monitor problem, im thinkin' its the motherboards. I can test this if you would like, swapping out from my good pc.

Thanks for your time, sorry for the run on sentences.

Do they power ON ? You will need to remove the side door on each, then see if the power up ... I would test the Video cards First ..then ram then hard drive and motherboard last..

I have a dell 745 to, it can hold 8 gigs max, I would think it would the better of the two computers to FIX/USE... So there is no video at all ? Does your dell Have onboard video or does it have a card ?
