i purchase a used 19" flat screen monitor from market. the problem i am facing is that it has two very thin horizontal lines. One line is above the center point and one line is below the centre point. these lines will be shown clearly when you apply a light color wallpaper or picture. and these are the complete lines.

so what is this. is this is a problem in monitor or with a picture tube. or something else

plz help me in this regard.

bye

hi m8 it cud be that the the screen is scratched from a previous user leaving it on one user for two long. Are these lines still visible after the screen as been turned off? some of the newer moniters come with a option called "degauess" you could try this as it de magnitisers the screen. one unrecommended method i once heard ov getting rid on suh problems was to run a magnet across the screen but i wouldnt advise it. post back Dave

Those two lines are there because of two wires holding the monitor's apeture grill in place. Any flat CRT monitor will have them, and it's not a defect.
