Upgrading my processor?

I'd like to upgrade my processor, AMD Athlon 3600+ 1.92 GHz Dual Core, and i'm interested how much improvement in games would i get if i buy AMD Athlon II X4 640 (3.0GHz,2MB,95W,AM3) . In same games on higher settings i get about 20 fps( Skyrim, witcher 2, gta iv,...), and i don't want to end up buying new processor for about 2-3 fps improvement.
 
upgrading your processor is a good idea and will be worth while but i'm not sure how much of an increase there would be.
 
if you are into playing games, consider phenom ii x2 or phenom ii x4, they far better than athlon.
