Apparently Apple has started sending out letters to companies that have 'pod' in their products names. DailyTech explains:

Apple is also telling Mach 5 Products that it cannot file for trademarks using the "pod" nomenclature in the US or anywhere else. The computer company also says it's giving Mach 5 Products a reasonable time to phase out any products using the "pod" name. Interestingly, Apple also claims that the Profit Pod bares physical resemblance to an iPod thereby confusing consumers on which one is which.

Gee...that's a little over the top, isn't it?

To me, telling companies they cant use a dictionary word to describe the appearance of there product is unreasonable

Silly, yes, but ZipZoomFly used to be named Googlegear...

Isn't Apple the company that sticks up for the little guy? Guess not. Let's hope Gilette doesn't find out about the company's name, 'Mach 5'. It might be confused with the Mach 3 razor.
