Using dell parts for custom computer possible?

I plan on buying a new case, PSU, and mobo and then later a new graphics card. I currently have a dell e521 and i was wondering if i could use the RAM (2G), Hard drive, CPU ( x2 4200+) , and the GPU (ATI x1300 pro) from the dell and use it for my new computer?

The broad answer is yes, all those parts can go together. The picky answer is that the M2N-SLi Deluxe board supports DDR2 800 and the RAM you have is DDR2 667, so you'd be operating at less than ideal. The board will allow you to upgrade for quite a while though.
Just so you know, you can get that same case with a side window for the same price and it has a 10$ rebate right now. Don't know how long the rebate will last though.

Yes. All those parts will work. It's the motherboard and PSU pairing that you have to watch for. Some motherboards, and the PSU's that go with them are wired up a little differently than the standard ATX units in the ATX power connector. However, this does not affect other parts.
 
So your saying the Motherboard and the PSU i have may not work together? or are you talking about the dell motherboards and PSU's
 
I'm referring to the Dells not working with standard parts. The ATX power connector isn't changed, but the wiring of it is, which would have fatal effects on a non-Dell motherboard. Your parts will work fine, however.
