So I finally get all my components after months of debating, researching, saving up, and whatnot and I'm trying to contain my glee. So like anyone would do I unwrap everything and start caressing my hardware, after I get bored I naturally begin to build. I replace the heatsink/fan, set the jumpers, install the video card, modem, extra fan, etc. Then I loose a few screws installing the hard drive, and finally begin to work on the the optical drives. My "acquired taste" NZXT Nemesis case is pretty easy to work with, it's loaded with those little clips that accommodate your drives so nicely, and the case is generally solidly built, maybe too solidly... I set the drive to master and put it down as I go to pop out the top drive plate. I spot these little plastic feet that hold the plate in place and begin to pry them up. Man those tiny mothers are strong, I add a little extra force and in a split second I hear a big pop and a surge of pain runs up my hand. I glance down at my finger and see what I would expect it to look like if it were somehow disemboweled, I've got this huge chunk bitten out and the blood it pouring. I instinctively put my finger in my mouth to protect my mobo and waddle to the bathroom. I grab a wad of tissues and return to my work, I have no time to nurse wounds, I've got a computer to build darn it! The only satisfaction I received out of all this is I did successfully pop the bloody drive out. *Humph*, Nemesis indeed, grrrr... :dead:
Haha! My cheapo case dide a similar thing to me. Eerytime I want to tkae the front panel off I have to squeeze together clips that keep the panel attached to the chassis. One time I was doing that and I slipped. The sharp edges cut my finger. Like you I put my fingers in my mouth and got bits of iron filings all over my tongue.
