ok, i got a bad virus a couple of days ago. i think it was worm. Anyway i done an online scan at housecall which cleaned most but not all of the infections. I still can't get into any of my programs, it says is "sorry cannot find..." every time i try. My conclusion is that i'll need to completely wipe my Hard drive and start again. I've already saved all important word documents to a jump drive. Anyway i dont know how to wipe my hard drive. I can't download any programs because once i try to open them that message comes up "cannot find....". Could someone tell me a way around? Is there any way of manually wiping the hard drive?

Do you have a 'real' Windows disc, or is it one of those OEM "system restore" discs?

What do you plan on reinstalling then once the system is reformatted?

If you have a copy of XP, all you need to do is delete the partition using the XP installation itself -- you don't need any 3rd party tools.

Look, I'm closing this thread. We don't support pirated software here. Feel free to post again on this subject once you've got a legal OS you want to install. Nothing personal, but that's the policy.
