Hi Folks, I am having a bit of trouble with a users laptop. Its running very slow and everytime I google anything it takes me to some dodgey search engine or a website that is totally unrelated. I have HiJackThis results but have no idea where to start, could anyone advise which is the culprit? Just a quick update, I have tried to run Malwarebytes but it will not launch and I have also tried to install ComboFix but that won't even install! Please help!
that can be annoying to fix, I've fixed the problem many times. - Download the required software Spybot-S&D! and CCleaner - You should download them using another computer if at all possible - Disconnect the computer from the internet and install the above programs - Use them to delete any infected files or register entries There's another program I use but can't remember what its called, its very good at detecting/removing infected files, will get back to you if I remember.
Hi. I cannot launch Spybot, thats another thing that being blocked by whatever this sytem has. I managed to perform a full scan with CCleaner and a registry fix but no better. I have been advised to disable TDSserv in the hidden devices in the device manager. I have done that and rebooted. It has enabled me to run MBAM, which is now performing a full scan, which I will post. Also my anti virus sprang back to life after doing this, and detected loads of trojans. Thanks again, I will report back.
Have you tried System restore yet ? Try and restore to an earlier date.. then run all Av and spyware programs.
