I think it was Windows 3, I just know that windows 2 was renamed windows 286 when windows 386 came out so it would make sense. I must admit id not heard of 286 and 386 until a few weeks ago... Windows 3.1 was the first windows I messed with other than dos.
The first Intel 386 came out in '85 but most of them came out in '87 so it must have been built for that.

Its a silly video now but for 1987 I bet this was pretty funky :) I remember those floppies quite well, we got a BBC PC in my last year at junior school and used to get to play with it every now and then. They were the small floppies at the time! I think the big floppies were 12"

Paul Gascoigne's song was one to make you cringe too. Its a little while after though... probably just before (or after) Italia '90. Ive just had a quick look for it on youtube but can only find him playing football.... wow I forgot how good he was!

i don't quite remember floppies that big[ot]but i've still got a 5 1/4 drive[/ot]i think my dad's first computer was an Oric 1 (no idea about the specs) but my mum wasn't impressed when the salesman in the shop said "it can draw a circle"
