hi, i have just changed my graphics card from a geforce 7600gs to an 8500gt sonic edition. i have onboard graphics too, and in between changing graphics cards i decided to try them to see what they were like (asus p5vd2-vm mobo). i noticed that frame rates were totally crap. (moreso than they should have been) even 2d games like continuum ran at about 5fps. i changed my graphics card, and now 3d apps play alot better than the previous card. however 2d apps seem to run terribly, at about 15 fps. i think this might be a driver issue. i didnt uninstall the 7600 before i took it out of the machine, i did however delete it from add/remove programs afterwards. and maybe that explains why 2d sucks with onboard and this gfx card. ive sold my last card so i cant check to see if the 2d performance is still better or not. would it be a driver problem or what? and how to solve it? theres no more 7600 stuff to delete. im really confused. thanks for your help
well, i do know that the 8 series drivers are a little weird and still have some weird bugs, so it could just be software. In that case, theres nothing you cna really do about it except wait it out.
