What can affect video display?

Well for the past month i have been trying to build my computer for some reason something always goes wrong first the power wouldnt work and now that i fixed that the video isnt working i bought a new PSU still didnt work then a new mobo and still nothing are those the 2 only things that can make the video not display?

pci express and no it doesnt have a 4 pin connector

Of which brand???

Also try the Bare Bones method...
Take out the Mobo from the Case..and leave it with only
CPU
1xRAM
1xHDD
1xVideo Card(if u dnt have a Onboard)

Use flat face screw driver to short pins and start the computer....
