Welcome to HWF I'm also a user of AutoCAD, and can help you with this. First of all, wait until October where you can purchase Windows 7. This version is much faster and more stable than Vista. Now the system. This depends a bit on what you do with AutoCAD. Building 3D models have much higher requirements than 2D architectural drawings. So I made a recommended system set-up for both purposes. But if I recall for previous versions CAD, the LT version doesn't support 3D. 2D drawings: - 4 GB DDR2 RAM - Intel Core 2 Duo CPU (E6600 or higher) - Geforce 8800 GT or better graphics card 3D drawings: - 6 GB DDR3 RAM (required for the i7 CPU) - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9 or Intel i7 (recommended if it fits your budget) - NVidia Geforce 9800 GTX or GTX 280 or ATI Radeon HD4870 Free Disk space of at least 120/160 GB is recommended. Also you will need a 64-bit version of Windows. Windows 7 recommended. And for the screen, I really suggest a resolution of 1680x1050 or higher to get a better overview of your drawings.
