Ok the short story is that I ordered a processor online and was hoping to get
an AMD Athlon 3000+ Venice 939. Right here ---> http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80699-5

The day it arrives I open the box and look at a sticker on the box and it says that it's a 3200+. I open up the box and there is a heat sink and fan where the one I supposedly ordered has none. And the SKU number (the one on the processor, I thinks that's the SKU number :D ) Doesn't match! But the invoice says I got what I ordered.

ADA3200DAA4BP is the number that is no the processor I received. I don't want to jump to conclusions but did they just ship me a better processor?

I have tried searching on the net but I am getting conflicting stories about what processor I have. Can anyone help me out?

Right first things first download [google]CPU-Z[/google] and tell us the model, speed and codename of the CPU as well as whether its a 90nm CPU. From there we should be able to make a decision.

    How do I download it?
The processor is not installed and still in the box...I haven't gotten the rest of the computer ordered yet. And I'm currently on a Mac... :D

Ahh, well it won't work withough the CPU installed, well I think from the looks of things you may have got a better CPU, you ordered a 3000+ OEM and got a 3200+ Retail, honestly it can't be bad can it! Although from that link you ordered a 3000+ Retail so would have got a heatsink with that.
Here's a google search of that CPU SKU number, looks like you got yourself a 3200+!
    :good:

I was actually checking that they're the same cores. A Venice is better than a Winchester. But yea it seems they're the same core. Stick with it.

Sounds like you got lucky, just make sure they didn't bill you the price of a 3200.

No they didn't bill me full price. The invoice even says a 3000+ and my bank statement matches
    the invoice :D

How do I figure out if it's a Winchester or Venice?
Is it just the heatsink and fan that is jacking up the price of the Winchester?
I just want to know how much $$$ I saved on this little mistake.

The one thing that weirds me out is I can't find my particular processor listed on zipmzoomfly's website. None of their AMD 3200's have my SKU# :cramp:

Anywho thanks for all the help from everyone.

zipzoomfly never loads for me for some reason. Always down?

From the codes its hard to tell what core it is, so best of just trying it. Even so a 3200 is better than 3000 so you got lucky.
