Sup all, what do you think would happen if I selected the "top performance" option in the CMOS setup? Would that be unsafe and damage stuff?
Also to save thread space, why is my CPU usage @ 100%? I'm not doing that much, I'm connected, I've got iTunes running and I'm downloading something, that's about it really. I know this was asked before but I couldn't find where, sorry, and thanks.

Lol if you have f@h running then ur CPU usage will always be 100% because it uses spare cycles. I'm not sure about the top performance thingi tho

Your welcome, this way all us regulars have been helpful which is cool, I try my best to rack up the helpful points but I think the systems too new for most new users to figure it out.

The top performance option usually only changes one or two settings, all of which you can change yourself manually. If you're using even mildy aggressive timing settings, that option would probably be a step backwards for you since it's usually very conservative. After all, motherboard OEM's don't like wasting their time & money on lots of tech support calls. :)

Top performance usually tightens RAM CAS latency to about 2 I think. Anyway if you've got dynamic overclocking in your board and its enabled it'll do more than using the high performance defaults.

I guess I'll try it, haven't really touched the bios since I configured it in the 1st place, and then I only worked out the basics.
