Which Graphics Card?

i jus found out i have an intel i875P chipset..(whatever that means) ....

im using a 64MB geforce 4 MX420 at the mo.....will this motherbord support 256 and which graphics card could i buy....budget.....£90-100....but anything slightly above would do good

for £100 your could get yourself a 6600gt (ocUK) 256MB for £120, see:

your motherboard will support any ammount on memory on a card, 32,64,128,256,512.

I'd personally recommend an X800GT or GTO if you can find one for about the same price, in many tests they edge out, provided they also have 256Mb's of vram.

The motherboard doesn't affect how much RAM is on a video card. You can have 28 bazillion gigs of RAM on a video card, and it'll work with your computer, assuming it's got a PCI (not to be confused with PCIe) or AGP interface. A video card's RAM is for the video card itself, and it's not set up to be shared with the rest of the system.

Though oddly enought it works the other way around with the exception of ATI's Hypermemory and nVidia's turbocache technologies, which actually suck the systems memory, though they're both for PCIe only. Either way though you could still have any quantity of ram as BB pointed out.
