Which hard drive do i need?

Hi, I am a newbie when it comes to upgrading/modifying PCs. I would be really grateful for any help. I have a Packard Bell PC, bought in 2002, has a 60 gb hard drive. I have almost filled this with music. (blame the ipod!) As a result, I need to buy an additional internal hard drive for extra storage,I was thinking something in the region of 100gb +. I am totally mind boggled by the range of hard drives that can be bought e.g. SATA, ATA etc. Can anyone help me and tell me what I need? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Joe:O
 
I would just buy a larger EXTERNAL hard drive, That would solve your problem.
Then just stick all the music on that drive.. You can transfer all existing sound file to the new hard drive, Then just use the 60 hard drive for your OS...

I have an external hard drive which I could put my music on, but I'm worried that if there were any technical problems with this drive, or got stolen etc. all my music would be gone! If I did put my music on it, can i set it as the default drive in itunes? Ideally though, i'd prefer an internal hard drive. :confused:

I see no difference between having a Teck Problem with this External drive or a
internal drive. Also ,If they are going to steel your hard drive,They will steel
everything else as well...Your default drive will have to be your OS drive C: drive
and the external drive would most likely be D: drive.
In order to put another internal drive, You will have too open up your case
and if there is any room..
