Why does SATA hate me?

Ive got a 120gb IDE HDD installed on my comp.
I wanted to add a 160GB SATA hardrive of the same make for extra storage.
Becuase i didnt want windows on the secondary drive (SATA remember)
before installing the drive I installed the drivers for my onboard SATA controller on the master IDE drive. I then installed the drive itself but it was not recognized by windows.(it does however show in the device manager)
Thing is I dont know how to format this drive so i can use it.?? :(

go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management (you will need to classic view)

It should be listed there just right click and format...
