Have you tried doing a registry scan to remove all traces of both firewalls?

Ok, I am under the impression that you got rid of "adorons" and installed zonealarm... Check and see that the internet connection is not "locked". I am not positive, but I think Zone Alarm automatically locks the internet connection when you install it. It will have a picture of a lock and either have it locked or show it unlocked.

Yep exactly like that, Zonealarms locked the internet. Just click it and it will unlock.

What your setup? Do you connect directly to the Internet from your computer through a modem, or do you go through a router? Have you tried the command-line tools like ping? I would also check your network configuration to see if anything has been altered there.

Does your computer connect directly to the Internet or does it go via a router/external modem? When you try pinging do you use the name of the target (e.g. www.google.co.uk) or its number (e.g. 66.102.9.147)? If you can't even ping the 'net by IP address then type "ipconfig" in a DOS window and post the output.
