Hey guys I am new to this forum site... and have a BIG question hopefully someone can help me with.

My question is reharding the windows XP 64-bit edition TRIAL software you can download for free at microsoft's website....

I have a qx6700 (2.66Ghz) quad core that I am trying to install this OS on...I remember them saying that the trial version could only be installed on AMD based platforms... however... when I looked today it said...

"Supported processors: AMD Athlon 64, AMD Opteron, Intel Xeon with Intel EM64T support, Intel Pentium 4 with Intel EM64T support....Important: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition cannot be successfully installed on 64-bit Intel Itanium-based systems."

Which category does my processor fall into? will the trial version work on my qx6700 extreme? or will it not?

And finally... I am currently running 32-bit Vista home premium if the 64-bit trial CAN be installed on my qx6700, I am assuming I can do a clean install of the trial over my current 32-bit vista with no problems.... please SOME1 HELP! thanks all...

    Nick
